Curriculum Development

Developing relevant curricula that meet the needs of our changing environment is an ongoing endeavor. I can help you:

  • develop humanities curricula that incorporate diverse perspectives and cross-disciplinary connections 
  • review curricula to help schools and programs consider the needs of the learners, align with the organization’s vision and mission, and infuse cultural relevance in today’s world
  • map curricula to enhance alignment between grades and content areas 
  • design formative and summative assessments that use a variety of research-driven instructional strategies  

Professional Development Facilitation 

Meaningful professional development can reinvigorate teachers and unite the faculty around a common goal. I can facilitate workshops and seminars on:

  • introducing, planning and promoting positive discipline that teaches strategies like restorative practices, collaborative problem solving, and effective communication
  • teaching controversy in the classroom that allows students (and adults) to think critically, articulate values, and build community
  • developing tools to reach those students who are struggling in the classroom and enriching those students who are poised for additional growth
  • rethinking meaningful group work that teaches flexibility, accountability, independence and interdependence and reflective practices

Individual Coaching for Teachers

The research is clear that teachers who receive individual support are able to take productive risks, reflect, and grow as professionals. As a coach, I can:

  • provide mentorship and onboarding for new and developing faculty to help them with instructional methods, classroom management, and assessment strategies
  • help individual teachers with professional goals that foster growth in the area of education or that align with the organization’s expectations
  • conduct observations and provide effective feedback that help teachers reflect upon their practices
  • work with teachers to develop data-driven instructional strategies that use student data (formative assessments, test results, etc.) to inform teaching and adapt to the needs of all learners
